Dr. Mark Pierce, DC, BCAO, Executive Director | Owner | Chiropractor

Dr. Mark A. Pierce is one of only 14 Board-Certified Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractors in the state of Florida and has been in practice for 30+ years, serving Jacksonville and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Pierce graduated from Life University in 1989, where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He is a fourth generation chiropractor and began his career under the direction of his father, Dr. Burton A. Pierce Jr. at Pierce Chiropractic Clinic. During this time, Dr. Pierce became a Board-Certified Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor and a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician.

Dr. Pierce has partnered with many of the local sports communities and served as the official team chiropractor for several professional teams including the Jacksonville Bullets, Jacksonville Lizard Kings, Jacksonville Barracudas, Jacksonville Suns, Jacksonville Cyclones, and Jacksonville Armada.

In early 2000, Dr. Pierce opened his first practice, Mark Pierce Chiropractic Clinic and expanded to Physical Healthcare of Jacksonville in 2013 to not only provide the best chiropractic care, but medical care and physical therapy to his patients.

It has been a dream of Dr. Pierce’s to not only change people’s lives in North Florida, but to help all Americans live pain free and therefore helped found Anodyne Pain & Wellness Solutions, a national brand of healthcare clinics providing non-opioid, non-surgical medical care. With 10+ Anodyne clinics throughout the United States already helping patients achieve their goals of living without pain, Dr. Pierce’s dream is well on its way.


Dr. Kyle S. Jackson, DC, Co-Executive Director |  Chiropractor

Dr. Kyle S. Jackson graduated from the University of Florida (UF) with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He also played football for the university from 2004-2008 and was a member of the 2006 National Championship team. During his football career, Dr. Jackson sustained a career-ending back injury requiring surgery. He was told he would never play football again. He opted out of surgery and began chiropractic treatment with Dr. Mark Pierce at Mark Pierce Chiropractic Clinic. Not only did he heal from his injury, Dr. Jackson went on to play the game he loved and joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after graduating from UF.

Following his football career, Dr. Jackson continued to be amazed by the miraculous healing he’d experienced from his chiropractic care. As a result, he enrolled in the Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2009 and graduated in 2012, receiving his Doctorate of Chiropractic. During this time, he also received training in sports therapy, allowing him to attend city sporting events and perform chiropractic treatments and therapies for participating athletes. After graduation, Dr. Jackson began his chiropractic career where he received his first chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Jackson serves as Co-Executive Director alongside Dr. Mark Pierce and one of our Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractors at anodyne of Jacksonville.


Dr. Marc Blatt, DO, Medical Director

Dr. Marc B. Blatt is a practicing Hospitalist in Jacksonville specializing in Internal Medicine.

He graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Florida.

Dr. Blatt currently practices at Jacksonville Hospitalists, PA and he’s affiliated with Memorial Hospital and Baptist Medical Center Beaches.

Dr. Blatt is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.


Dr. Matthew D. Pierce, DC, Chiropractor

Dr. Matthew D. Pierce, who we call  Dr. Matt, specializes in Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic care and has been in practicing for 29 years, serving Jacksonville and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Matt graduated from Life University in 1991, where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He is a fourth generation chiropractor and began his career under the direction of his father, Dr. Burton A. Pierce Jr. at Pierce Chiropractic Clinic. After his father retired, he joined forces with his brother, Dr. Mark A. Pierce, at Physical Healthcare of Jacksonville, now Anodyne of Jacksonville.


Dr. Alexandra “Lexi”  Hatcher, DPT, Physical Therapist

Dr. Alexandra Hatcher, who we call Dr. Lexi, is our resident Physical Therapist. She graduated from Temple University Summa Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019.
While completing her doctorate program, she completed advanced coursework in vestibular and geriatric care. Through her clinical experience, Dr. Lexi has gained the professional tools to effectively treat a variety of orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and geriatric conditions by using a multifaceted approach of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional activities. She actively pursues continuing education opportunities so she may apply the most relevant and cutting edge research to her treatment.
Dr. Hatcher has been board certified through the Florida Board of Physical Therapy after passing the national Federation of State Boards exam in July 2019. She is also a certified BLS provider.
She is from Philadelphia, PA, and is relatively new to the Jacksonville area. When she is not delivering care to patients, she enjoys the nearby beach, biking, and distance running with her husband.

Angeline Leong, PA-C, MPAS, RD, Physician Assistant | Registered Dietitian

Angeline is our resident Physician Assistant and Registered Dietitian. Angeline received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University.  Because of her passion for health and wellness, Angeline went on to further her education and was accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Florida where she graduated with her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2003.
After graduation, Angeline worked for the University of Florida’s Hematology/Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Pulmonary Department. She worked in pulmonary research and was involved in numerous clinical studies.

In 2013, Angeline accepted a position as a Family Practice Physician Assistant in Kaneohe, Hawaii where she enjoyed working with the diverse polynesian population and living the island life. She returned home to Florida in 2016 to specialize in Internal Medicine, Pain Management, and Geriatric Medicine.

Angeline also holds a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and is a Registered Dietitian. She is passionate about healthy living through exercise and sensible diet. She believes that food is medicine.

In her free time, Angeline enjoys running on the beach and is a self proclaimed foodie.


 Ashley Beech-Mavrantzas, LCSW, Mental Health Counselor

Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and our Mental Health Counselor at Physical Healthcare of Jacksonville. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ashley grew up in Roswell, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business. She continued on to Radford University in Virginia and received her Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She applied her education in the Human Resources field and made a career move to Jacksonville, Florida where she met her husband, George. Ashley and George have 2 sons, Christos and Liam.
After several years in the Human Resources field, Ashley decided to pursue her passion of becoming a therapist.  Ashley enrolled at Florida State University and received her Master of Social Work. During that time, she gained clinical experience at both Daniel Memorial and Hubbard House Domestic Violence Shelter where she counselled with victims of domestic violence, trauma, and personality disorders. She knew quickly that these were areas of which she would specialize.
In addition to her role at Anodyne of Jacksonville, Ashley is developing her private practice, as well as, treating patients with substance abuse disorders at Lakeview Health. She practices Mindfulness and Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) and is working towards her specialization in both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Ashley serves on the following Board of Directors: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Foundation of Jacksonville, River City Dance Project (RCDP), and the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of Kernan Trail Elementary. Ashley is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She volunteers at the Hubbard House, Rethreaded (an organization offering help to those affected by the sex trafficking industry), and the American Red Cross-Northeast Chapter.
In her free time, Ashley spends much of her time with family and friends and finds peace through meditation and being at the beach.  Ashley has a passion for helping people who are in need of mental health treatment and she is now doing her life’s work here at Physical Healthcare of Jacksonville.
