Advanced Cold Laser Pain Therapy

What is Advanced Cold Laser Pain Therapy?

Laser Therapy, or “photobiomodulation”, is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and infrared) to create healing effects. These effects include, but are not limited to, improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation, reduced inflammation, decreased swelling, and vasodilation. Laser Therapy has been widely utilized in Europe amongst physicians since the 1970’s and passed FDA clearance in 2002.

Drug free, pain relief is our primary goal. Our non-surgical, non-invasive Laser Therapy has the power to dramatically reduce and/or potentially eliminate pain, discomfort, and inflammation.

General Biological Effects of Laser Therapy

  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Analgesic (anti-pain)
  • Improved Nerve Function
  • Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth
  • Improved Vascular Activity
  • Increased Metabolic Activity
  • Immunoregulation
  • Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation (scars)
  • Triggerpoint Resolution
  • Acupuncture Point Stimulation

What is Laser Therapy Used for?

Laser Therapy has photobiomodulation beneficial effects for relieving pain, resolving inflammation, and increasing the speed, quality, and tensile strength of tissue repair. It has also been shown to stimulate the immune system, reduce infection, and improve the function neurological tissue. Laser therapy is also effective in increasing collagen production, bone repair, reducing edema, increasing lymphatic drainage, and increasing production of capillary beds.

How Does Laser Therapy work?

Low level wavelengths of light are applied directly to the problem area. As the tissue absorbs the light, the wavelengths create a biological reaction to the red and infrared light improving regeneration. During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, draws water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area.

This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscles spasms, stiffness, and pain in conjunction with a cascade of healing mechanisms your body naturally employs.

As the injured area returns to normal (homeostasis), function is restored, and pain is relieved.

Effects can be noticed with the first treatment. A series of treatments are recommended to insure sustained and prolonged relief. Patients routinely state a vast improvement and increased range of motion permitting the patient restored function and improved quality of life.

Cold laser therapy creates no sound, vibration or heat and it’s a painless procedure that takes only a few minutes. It’s safe, cost-effective, nontoxic and noninvasive.

Has the effectiveness been demonstrated scientifically?

Yes. There are hundreds of rigorously controlled, scientific studies that document the effectiveness of laser therapy for clinical conditions covering the entire body like pain, inflammation, arthritis, tendonitis, neuroma, nerve pain, joint pain, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and any type of inflammatory disease or condition.

Who benefits from cold laser therapy?

Patients with, but not limited to:

  • Arthritis
  • Disc conditions or injury
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Bursitis
  • Neuropathy
  • Neuralgia
  • Back pain
  • Knee pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Hip Pain
  • Tennis elbow
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Tarsal Tunnel
  • Tendonitis
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Muscle strain
  • Ligament sprains
  • Acute and chronic pain
  • Inflammation
  • Sports Injuries

Cellular Effects of Laser Therapy

During Laser Therapy, the infrared light interacts with tissues at the cellular level and metabolic activity increases within the cell. This vastly improves the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane. This initiates the release of nitric oxide that leads to a plethora of beneficial effects, increasing cellular function and health.
