Why IV Nutrition Therapy?

When over-the-counter supplements are at arm’s length and can be purchased everywhere, why go to the trouble of doing IV Nutrition Therapy? It’s the #1 question we are asked. So, what’s the difference between taking supplements orally versus receiving them via IV?
There are many scientific reasons why IV Nutrition Therapy is better for you than oral supplements, but the main reason can be summarized in one keyword: ABSORPTION!

The IV Route

An IV infusion delivers 100% of each vitamin directly into your bloodstream, therefore your body absorbs 100% of those vitamins and minerals. You can relax in a comfy chair while we immerse your cells with a plethora of nourishing vitamins and minerals. Because these vitamins are being delivered directly into your bloodstream, this means your gut doesn’t have to breakdown and digest them to pass them to your small intestine. The digestion process breaks down the integrity of the vitamin itself. By the time a vitamin reaches your small intestine for absorption, there is very little vitamin left for your body to absorb. IV therapy allows for an immediate effect by bypassing the digestion process.

The Oral Route

When you take a vitamin by mouth, there is an extensive process it must go through to reach your bloodstream. The process is complex and quite inefficient when it comes to absorbing the vitamins you’re taking orally. Water-soluble vitamins are considered large molecules. Unlike IV vitamins, vitamins/molecules can’t just pass through your intestines into your bloodstream. Instead, they have to pass through a layer of cells/cell membranes lining the entire intestinal tract that cannot be penetrated by water-soluble vitamins and nutrients. Therefore, your body does not absorb them. Oral vitamins can actually compete with one another. Simply put, when you take multiple vitamins by mouth each of them must wait in line for the other to be processed by your body and passed into your bloodstream. This means oral vitamins compete with each other for access to the bloodstream! Unfortunately, the problems don’t stop there…

Oral vitamin supplementation is:

Oral vitamins are dependent on crossing the cell membranes in your intestines. They are also dependent on the integrity of your intestinal tract. Lifestyle factors, alcohol consumption, stress, medications, etc. play a role in intestinal function.

Intravenous (IV) supplements and vitamins:

100% of the vitamins are absorbed by your body with IV treatments. These vitamins are 100% bioavailable. IV treatments deliver high concentrations of vitamins and minerals that are unattainable when taken orally. Highly effective for individuals experiencing fatigue, weight
gain, suffer from vitamin deficiency, headaches, infections, dry skin, hair, brittle nails, and other health conditions. You will receive immediate health benefits. Oral supplementation can be complementary to IV Nutrition therapy however, they are in no way equivalent to the overall health benefits of IV Nutrition Therapy.
